There are three places that I actually attended in Gothenburg, so I can give more details about those:
And two more places I was recommended which are a bit different, and I’ve never actually been there:
- Tusen konster och en boll which is, I believe, directed more at some circus skills, but I can’t be 100% sure
- AcroGBG which is not gymnastics but partner acro yoga (which I will describe in more detail here). However, I believe it’s a very fun thing to do so I’d leave it here anyway
And I will start with Göteborg Power Gymnastics, which I attended more than the others, three times a week I believe. Here are its webpage and Facebook (in case you want to contact the coach).
I really liked this place 🙂 . Classes are held in two locations (which are almost next door to one another). Weekdays training (Tuesday and Wednesday) is in a real gymnastics hall. There’s usually a warm-up than those who want to can work on some specific drills or just do whatever else they fancy (there’s sprung floor, tumbling track, foam pit, all the apparatuses). There is usually conditioning at the end.
Saturday training (mostly for the newbies) is held in a school gym. It has some crash mats, air thack, trumpet, and a number of stations that are usually set up at the beginning. It doesn’t really have any fancy gymnastics equipment. I still liked these classes a lot, we worked on specific tumbling and trumpet drills and skills, conditioning was quite tough.
Askim Billdal Gymnastikskola is the next one, here’s their webpage and Facebook. It’s a real huge gymnastics hall with lots of equipment. However the gym is directed primarily at the team gym teams, so there are a tumbling and fast track, two trampolines, trumpets, but no sprung floor, beams need to be set up, no bars/rings/etc. The adult classes are 2 times a week (Tue, Thur) and have more trampoline training that I’m used to, I’d say. It’s still good, I would say especially for those with some previous experience. Unfortunately a bit far from central Gothenburg which is why I only went there once a week (there’s a nice fast bus though).
Göteborg Cheer & Gymnastik is the one I attended the least, only during the summer break at my other gymnastics places. It’s not held in an actual gymnastics hall (although I do believe the members do field trips to gymnastics places from time to time), however there was an air track, some crash mats, and if you were a member you could just come and play there with others or on your own 🙂
